Peek-a-Boo

Meet Peek a boo 👀🐾
Peek a boo is a shy, sweet, and gentle girl who’s learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. Sudden noises can startle her, so she’ll thrive in a calm, patient home that’s willing to let her build confidence at her own pace.

When Peek a boo feels comfortable and happy, her tail becomes a little flag, wagging side to side and proudly announcing her joy. It’s one of her most charming traits and a sure sign you’ve earned her trust.
Peek a boo is fully housetrained and will stand at the door if she needs to go out before the next scheduled bathroom break. She is not kennel trained, but she has done very well when left loose in the house and has not caused any trouble, though she has discovered the toy bin and started happily pulling things out to play with. She also enjoys cuddling and being petted once she is comfortable with her humans.

She has shown interest in meeting calm, respectful dogs and would likely do ok living with an easygoing canine companion. Peek a boo likely wouldn’t appreciate a pushy or overly rambunctious roommate, but a gentle dog who understands boundaries could be a wonderful match. She is also reportedly accustomed to cats, so a home with a dog savvy cat could also be an option.

Peek a boo does tend to bark when people walk by the house or when her foster is on the phone. She followed her foster mom around the other day barking when she was ordering takeout, but unfortunately still didn’t get the chicken fried rice that she requested. Better luck next time Peek a boo!

Peek a boo’s nails were quite overgrown so she will need small trims weekly or so for now to help get her quicks down so her nails can eventually be cut down to a more comfortable length.

She would do best with dog-savvy kids ages 5+ who understand how to give her space and move calmly around her.
With patience, kindness, and a peaceful environment, Peek a boo will blossom into a devoted companion — rewarding you with soft tail wags and gentle moments that make the wait more than worthwhile. 💛
